What are occupational lenses?

Occupational lenses, also known as office or computer lenses, are specially designed multifocal lenses for close and intermediate vision tasks. Unlike standard progressive lenses, they do not provide full distance correction. Instead, they are optimised for clear, comfortable vision from reading distance up to approximately five metres.

Why are they useful?

‍

A wider viewing area - Broader reading and intermediate zones can make it easier to view computer screens, documents, other work materials and phones.

Improved posture and comfort - A wider visual field can support a more natural head and neck position, reducing the need to tilt your head or strain your neck when looking at a monitor.

Reduced eye strain - Occupational lenses may help alleviate symptoms associated with prolonged screen use, including visual fatigue, headaches, and neck and shoulder discomfort.

Effortless focus at work - Smooth transitions between working distances make it easier to shift focus from your keyboard and documents to colleagues or objects elsewhere in the room.

An important safety note: Occupational lenses are designed specifically for office and indoor environments. They are not suitable for driving and should not be used where full distance vision is required.
