Eye Care in Huntly

A wide slow New Zealand river running past a small town, road bridge in the distance

Rose Optometry has a branch in Huntly as well as our main clinic at 38 Lake Road, Frankton. For most people, that means eye examinations, glasses and contact lens care can happen locally, without driving to Hamilton at all.

The two sites are one practice, with the same optometrists, the same records and the same fees. What differs is the equipment: the specialty imaging and the dry eye treatment technology live at Frankton, because they cannot sensibly be duplicated.

What happens in Huntly

  • Comprehensive eye examinations — $129 for adults, $79 for children and school students
  • Children's eye examinations from six weeks of age
  • Glasses: dispensing, fitting, adjustments and repairs
  • Contact lens checks and supplies
  • Acute appointments for a red, sore or suddenly changed eye — $69

What we would bring you to Frankton for

Where a problem needs the specialty side of the practice, we book you into Frankton — about 30 minutes down State Highway 1 — and then hand your routine care back to Huntly. That covers keratoconus and scleral lenses, night lenses (orthokeratology), the structured myopia management programme with axial length measurement, and the dry eye clinic with IPL, Tixel, LipiFlow, BlephEx, Rexon-Eye and low-level light therapy.

Waikato District patients

The Huntly branch also serves Ngaruawahia, Te Kauwhata, Ohinewai, Rangiriri and the surrounding Waikato District. If you are not sure which site to book into, call us on 07 847 3195 and we will put you where the right equipment is.
